After 19 years running local kitchen Trash Tidy manufacturer and distributor Kitchen King Limited, Peter Johnson recently sold the business to Bertelsen Family interests. Allen Bertelsen has been the appointed Chartered Accountant to Kitchen King for the past seven years, and viewed the sale as an ideal opportunity to purchase an established and successful business.

Allen's daughter Jamie Bertelsen has returned home from a marketing role in London, to move into the position of Business Manager at Kitchen King. Jamie aims to develop and expand the Kitchen King range of Trash Tidies, whilst ensuring the Kitchen King brand is maintained and enhanced.

"Historically the company has manufactured and distributed Trash Tidies for the kitchen and with our Deluxe and Compact ranges this area is well catered for. Our focus over the next few years is to build on this business and to expand our range to suit the bathroom and laundry - providing quality Trash Tidy solutions for the home."

The company also exports to Australia, an area Jamie sees as providing a potential for growth in the future.

"Kitchen King currently provides Trash Tidies to the New Zealand market through reputable and well known distributors, as well as selling direct to trade. We have recently completed similar distribution arrangements in Australia, and see these channels as the key to success within the Australian market."

The new ownership brings exciting new possibilities for Kitchen King as they look to the future. The Kitchen King team looks forward to continuing to grow the long standing customer relationships built to date and are intent on ensuring they maintain the high standard of production for which they are known.
